Sometimes I get to photograph babies from the beginning when they are growing in their mom’s belly all the way through 1 year and beyond and sometimes, I do not meet them until later. This is one of those times. I got to meet a new little one for his 6-month session which also happened to be his first Christmas pictures with mom and dad. He was so photographic even though he was not feeling good at the time. Quentara Watson and Demarcus Luke are proud mom and dad to Zakai Jayden Luke, and I am looking forward to capturing more of this charming little fellow.
As a family, Zakai and his parents enjoy going sightseeing in the city or watching movies. They really love the marvel movies. Mom and dad are both currently college students. Zakai’s name is special because Zakai means pure and Jayden means thankful.
Baby Zakai was the perfect size to put in the TONKA truck. I was so excited to be able to use the prop and loved how the pictures turned out. I’ll definitely be using this one in future sessions.
The family chose to wear matching plaid red and black pjs with a mama bear, papa bear, baby bear theme. Super cute for the holiday season. Some fun facts about little Zakai. He was only 6lbs 5oz when he was born in June and had to wear a doc band helmet for 8 weeks because of head shape and got it off 3 days before our session.
Quentara described her overall experience of the session “The overall experience was great. Sariah was very professional and had great ideas for poses. She was super helpful and accommodating to my schedule and my ideas for the pictures.’ The advice she shares to others in preparing for the session and during the session is to “be yourself and everything will come naturally, and, in the end, you will have beautiful family pictures.”
Stay turned for future milestone sessions with the handsome Zakai. I cannot wait to watch him grow up!
