“All I do, I do for you.” Bryan Adams

When Nikolai and Paulina reached out to me to schedule their upcoming engagement session, it was a no-brainer for where we would go. I mean, what better location than Life University in Marietta, the exact place where they first met?

“We met in a biology class together. I passed with an A and became a tutor for the class. Nikolai failed. We proved that learning through osmosis doesn’t work.” says Paulina. Isn’t that the sweetest thing you have ever heard? I just love a good love story…  Paulina continues their love story with their proposal “We were dating for about a year when he proposed. We were visiting Nikolai’s parents in Minnesota for thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving Day, we went on a drive around the lake. We went on a frozen deck on the Lake of the Isles to ‘look at the view’. I was taking a picture of the beautiful view and after I turned around, I saw Nikolai was on his know asking me to marry him!”

They chose Life University for their engagement session because that is where they will earn their bachelor’s degree before transferring to a different Chiropractic college. They want to remember the chiropractic history around campus as well as the beginning of their relationship on campus.

They are currently planning on getting married at the Griffin house in Hood River, OR (edited to add because of COVID, their destination wedding was postponed until 2021 but they still got married on their chosen date this year. Aug 23, 2020)

The goal of the session was to capture their deep love for each other and do it as naturally as possible. Here are some examples of how we achieved that goal.:

Their favorite part about the session was “I loved how Sariah didn’t make the session awkward and helped us along the way. I enjoyed all the laughs and conversations. I felt like it was a really intimate time with Nikolai, and it was nice to just let go and be in the moment.”

I think my favorite part about this shoot was watching them dance and do the dip as well as trying to teach them how to do the “Notebook kiss”. Naturally, I had to photograph that little moment!

These two are getting married in June 2020, and I cannot wait to hear all the details of their special day. Good luck on all the planning, you guys, and thanks for letting me be a part of this journey toward your marriage!
